Has anyone connected a motion sensor to the breakout board? I am interested in sending a text message or an HTTP request when motion is detected. Can anyone help?
Thanks for the comment. I am interested to see what you come up with. Please post when you have had a chance to try it out. A laser trip sounds cool but I am really interested in the motion sensors like a home alarm has.
Take a look at battery operated (2 AAA) motion activated LED night-lights at your nearest big box store ($6). Easily hacked for use as an input to the breakout board. Even as-purchased, it could interface just by attaching a Cds photocell to the breakout board and letting the LED illuminate it. Easy.
The parts are on order, so I haven't tried it yet, but at the end of this post (http://supermechanical.tumblr.com/post/16433382815/an-enlightening-twine-update), they mention the idea of combining a light sensor with a laser pointer to make a trip wire. It's not exactly a motion sensor, but it'd detect motion through a doorway, etc.
