  As compared to what?  Having dead batteries and not knowing?  Hand me the stick.  Anyway, to your point, make the rule threshold based - send when voltage under 2.3 volts - and the problem is solved.

  By default, Twines do send out a low battery email. No need to create a separate rule.

  how can I schedule the low-battery phone call?  Mine came in at 3:30am today

  Twine's batteries will last a few more days after you get the low battery email. Since it's not an urgent request to replace batteries, we only send out emails, but we may be able to add other options in the future.

  You would use up what little power you have telling yourself the batteries are dead.  Its like poking yourself in the eye with a sharp stick.
